This collaboration introduces a Rural AI Incubator and the JAN AI Rural Internship Program, empowering students to create AI-driven solutions for agriculture, financial inclusion, and social impact through purpose-driven technology.

Chitkara University has formalised a transformative partnership through a strategic Memorandum of Understanding with JAN AI, a flagship initiative of the Head Held High Foundation, signaling a massive leap toward democratising innovation, entrepreneurship, and inclusive access to Artificial Intelligence. The agreement was executed in the presence of Dr. Madan Padaki, Founder of JAN AI, alongside senior leadership and academic representatives from the University, marking a forward-looking step in enabling students and communities to engage with emerging technologies while addressing critical real-world challenges. This collaboration prioritises building capacity through specialized AI-focused training programs, intensive workshops, and hands-on learning opportunities, further bolstered by the launch of the JAN AI Rural Internship Program designed to offer students direct exposure to real-life problem-solving within diverse communities.

The partnership involves the development of a dedicated Rural AI Incubator aimed at supporting student-led startups and innovations, complemented by comprehensive joint research initiatives centered on AI for social impact, rural development, and inclusive growth. This strategic alliance encourages the creation of sophisticated AI-driven solutions across vital sectors including agriculture, livelihoods, financial inclusion, and governance, while simultaneously providing students with exclusive opportunities to engage with industry leaders, policymakers, and grassroots innovators. Dr. Madan Padaki emphasised the critical importance of making AI accessible and relevant to all sections of society, particularly underserved communities, highlighting the essential role of academia in enabling this societal transformation.

Dr. Madhu Chitkara, Pro-Chancellor of Chitkara University, stated that the university believes the true potential of technology lies in its ability to create meaningful impact and that this collaboration with JAN AI is a step toward making Artificial Intelligence more accessible, relevant, and purpose-driven. She noted that by empowering students and communities with the right skills and opportunities, the institution aims to nurture a generation of innovators who can address real challenges and contribute to inclusive and sustainable growth.
